Merchant Facility Setup

To start accepting credit card payments through website in real-time via eWAY, merchant MUST have an Internet Merchant Facility with one of the major Australian banks:

  • StGeorge,
  • Bank SA,
  • Commonwealth,
  • ANZ,
  • NAB,
  • Westpac
  • BankWest.

This is a special facility that eWAY connects to, and allows us to process online payments for merchants. This facility is merely a temporary holding account, but will allow the merchant to specify a settlement account to deposit all funds processed for each business day. Through the use of an Internet Merchant Facility, eWAY never actually holds funds on behalf of merchant.
eWAY processes them directly into merchant’s own facility.

eWAY makes this process easy by contacting the banks on behalf of a merchant. Strong relationships with eWAY banking partners means that customer’s request will be sent to the right person in the right department, and processed very quickly.

Transaction fees are not included in the setup costs or yearly fee and are billed monthly. When first joining eWAY the yearly fee and setup are payable together at sign up. In the second year of use only the yearly fee is payable, the setup fee is a once off charge only. Note: $350 is the yearly fee in the second year.
